Expensive as this may sound, it is probably the /only/ way to reduce the cost of software development and actually acquire the experience we lack on which software development methodology works better than others. I am in general no fan of competition (I think it makes people optimize for superficial qualities), but if the cost of failure is limited, at the very least people will not run around like headless chicken because they fear for their jobs, which is frequently the consequence of competition. -- Erik Naggum, Oslo, Norway Act from reason, and failure makes you rethink and study harder.
