Vogt | Older versions of ACL, however where as I described, as are current | versions of LWW and MCL. FWIW, "Allegro Common Lisp" is used both for the Windows and the Unix version of Franz Inc's product line. the Windows version is a cheap and slow CLtL1 implementation with CLOS added -- I was very disappointed with it. however, its main fortés are its small size and the GUI builder. the Unix version purports to be conforming to ANSI Common Lisp (and is very close), is fast and holds very high quality -- I have been very satisfied with it. if all you have is ACL for Windows, the Unix version is like it's from a different world. (actually, it's from a different vendor, some years back.) the latest releases of these products are ACL 3.0.2 for Windows, ACL 4.3 for Linux, ACL 4.3.1 for Unix, and ACL 4.3.2 for NT, which is based on the Unix version plus the GUI builder for Windows NT, and I understand it is a preliminary release towards ACL 5.0. #:Erik -- religious cult update in light of new scientific discoveries: "when we cannot go to the comet, the comet must come to us."
