Hofstadter: "Metamagical Themas, Questing for the Essence of Mind and Pattern, an Interlocked Collection of Literary, Scientific and Artistic Studies". it's a Penguin paperback, acquisition date 1987-06-01, copyright Basic Books, Inc, 1985. the ISBN is probably useless, but is 0-14-008534-3. books.com and amazon.com both report it in stock as a trade paperback March 1996 _reissue_ at USD 20 (retail USD 25).
