You really, *really* need to read the standard (R4RS, which you can get from
ftp://ftp.cs.indiana.edu/pub/scheme-repository/doc/standards/r4rs.ps.gz or
http://www.cs.indiana.edu/scheme-repository/R4RS/r4rs_toc.html) so that you
can avoid asking such questions publicly.

It's a short document [54 pages, printed], it's easy to read, and it
has an index. And the answer(s) to your question is even *in* the index.
