I have just finished converting a Procyon Common Lisp application to run 
using ACL/Win 3.0.

However, I have seen a marked speed differential. ACL is is at least 50% 
slower than PCL and in cons intensive tasks > 100% slower.

I am not sure if the problem is associated with manipulating particular data 
types, however the application performs lots of consing and floating point 
arithmetic.

Has anyone else noticed any speed problems, or has any tips (other than the 
usual type declarations and speed declarations).
