Subject: Spam filtering on allegro-cl mailing list

Date: 1999-5-30 2:41

In an effort to keep the allegro-cl mailing list free of
inappropriate and abusive postings (aka spam), incoming messages to
allegro-cl are passed through a series of procmail filters before they
can be posted automatically without human intervention. Messages not
meeting the filter criteria are redirected to the list maintainer for
review and possible manual posting. The automatic filters look for
keywords/phrases most likely to appear in legitimate postings.
Patterns are added or modified as conditions warrant.

Due to a bug in a recently added pattern, which made that pattern
overly permissive, a message (with subject: "found it" from:
<innernet.net") at "nobody> that would have normally been blocked was
recently posted. This bug has been fixed. We intend to keep this
mailing list spam-free.

  My apologies for the inconvenience.
