Subject: Netscape Plugin

Date: 2000-6-16 6:19

Hi,

I've been having trouble getting the Netscape plugin to work, and was
hoping someone with experience could give me a pointer or two. I'm
running Allegro 5.0 Enterprise and Netscape Communicator/Navigator
4.5 in Windows 98.

I've followed the instructions about how to create the DLL files and
copied them into the Netscape plugin folder; Netscape's about:plugins
page shows that the Allegro Lisp Plugin is there. When I load the
sample life.htm page, however, after adding the full pathname to the
SRC tag, nothing happens--no gameboard, nothing. When I set CONSOLE
to Y, it does not appear. If I give only the filename in the SRC tag,
without the full path, though, the console blinks up for a fraction of
a second, apparently tries to load something, and then disappears,
without giving me the opportunity to debug anything. A message *may*
say that there's an error, but it goes by too fast for me to read
(gotta love GUIs. . .)

Does this sound like a known problem? I could potentially install a
clean version of Netscape and try again, but I'm hoping someone can
give me more informed advice.

Thanks,
