Subject: Load file dialog in ACL/W 3.0.2

Date: 1997-5-23 12:02

Hi all,

What happened with the load-file-dialog-box in ACL/W 3.0.2?
I'm using Windows NT 4.0 (service pack 3)
The file dialog doesn't show ALL long file names with their normal names.
So far, I couldn't find a pattern which are shown normally and which are
shown in the Win3.x compatibility format. Especially, there seems to be no
correlation whether a file is associated to ACL (via extension mapping) or
not.

Besides, why is this file dialog not a system file dialog (like the
file-open-dialog) and why can't I use network paths in it properly?

Another question to the open-file-dialog interface?

Why aren't all possible parameters to the system dialog supported in the
lisp interface? With the actual parameters, it is impossible to program a
directory-choose-dialog, although the system interface allows it!!

Thanks for any explanation (and code which fixes that :) ),

- stefan
